Reservation of beds for the next academic year: update
On 13 November the Accommodation Board of Masaryk University met to discuss, among other things, the process of reservations of beds at MU’s dormitories for the next academic year (2025/2026). Among the university’s priorities is to assign as many beds as possible to first-year students. This year their number increased from 750 to 1,202. The board agreed on further increase by 600 thanks to the anticipated completion of the renovation of the Kounicova dormitory. The number of beds for foreign students was increased as well (to 1,000). Any vacancies can be assigned to first-year students.
Current residents who will be away on their spring semester Erasmus programmes (having moved out) will be allowed to apply for beds for the following academic year via e-mail. Remaining in force is the rule according to which current students will be granted a period of time for applications. As usual, the exact schedule of reservations for the next academic year will be announced via ACS website at the end of March.
The summertime operation will be limited to the Bří. Žůrků and Mánesova dormitories with a total of 842 beds; well in excess of demand shown in previous years.
