The accommodation reservation system is set to acknowledge the current residents of MU’s dormitories. Starting on 5 May, they can submit their applications for the next academic year in the first round, as long as they meet the criterion of the standard length of study plus an extra year at the most. The following stages focus on students returning from internship programmes and foreign students. Ultimately, first-year students are expected to submit their applications. Foreign students and students returning from their internships abroad can look forward to higher chances in applying for accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic year, according to a recent decision by MU’s Accommodation Board.
Current students who had been staying at their dormitories since the fall semester but have since gone on their internship programme abroad and moved out, have one hundred beds earmarked for them by the management of the university. Those interested in moving back can submit their applications by e-mail, starting on 26 May, to Head of Residence Management Renata Pavlicová.
Among MU’s priorities are sufficient accommodation capacities for arriving foreign students. The number will increase to 1,000 as of the next academic year. Any vacancies can be reassigned to first-year students.

Improved menus and more effective operation combined with efforts in the area of sustainability. A lot has changed in MU’s canteens this past year, except for the number of customers. Students also increasingly prefer meat dishes on the menu, and less than 14 percent of canteen visitors use the pre-ordering systems Mobilkredit and Webkredit.

The canteen at the Faculty of Education is undergoing renovation
The canteen at the Faculty of Education will be closed to all students and employees from 9 May due to repairs to the water and sewage pipes. During the summer holidays, a safety glass partition will be built on the first floor of the canteen. The canteen, which has long been one of the most visited, will reopen to MU students in September 2025.

The Bří. Žůrků and Mánesova dormitories will offer summertime accommodation
Two dormitories, those at Bří. Žůrků and Mánesova, will offer summertime accommodation, with the total capacity of 842. This number exceeds the demand ACS has seen in recent years when it comes to summer months. Current residents can submit their applications for summertime accommodation since 2 June.
